Megan Mukuria

Megan Mukuria

Megan White wa Mukuria is a recognized leader in the field of menstrual and reproductive health, with over 20 years’ experience in non-profit and for-profit leadership in Kenya. She successfully built ZanaAfrica from ideation into a recognized leader internationally, creating holistic impact in menstrual heath management through policy, product innovation, sales, rights-based health education, and social and behavior change communication. She has participated in several global firsts: entrenching sanitary pads into Kenya’s budgets for schoolgirls (2008); formulating the first Menstrual Hygiene Policy (2013-2020); creating a mobile app to coordinate pad distribution in schools (2013); developing intellectual property of non-wood pulps on commercial pad machines (2012-2015); and, creating a “Fast Moving Educational Good” to leverage fast moving consumer goods (FMCGs) into a mechanism for consumer education while expanding access to primary healthcare services.

Megan and her work have been featured in over 40 global news stories and at over 20 conferences in the last four years. She holds a B.A from Harvard where she studied Cognitive Neuroscience – but graduated in Psychology with Honors and certification in Child Psychology and the Law, and Liberation Theology.

Roopal Thaker

Roopal Thaker

Roopal Thaker is a highly experienced program and project manager for the non-profit and NGO sector. She is passionate about impacting communities and shaping public policy from the ground up. She currently leads ZanaAfrica’s non-profit education and health work.

Roopal has a Master of Public Policy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Elizabeth Sidi

Elizabeth Sidi

Elizabeth Sidi is a Kenyan woman who is excited and Passionate about empowerment. She believes girls and women empowerment is a powerful tool for steering their social and economic development. At ZanaAfrica, she supports mentorship sessions and pads distributions in schools and community groups across Kenya through our partners. She has a background in Medical Laboratory Science and over 5 years’ experience working with adolescents and women. Interests include making friends and gardening!

Alice Onsarigo

Alice Onsarigo

Alice Onsarigo is an International Health professional with experience spanning over 20 years, managing health and development programs in East, Central and Southern Africa, with a focus in program management, institutional strengthening for non-governmental and community based organizations, and stakeholder engagement and management. She has extensive experience and demonstrated expertise in providing oversight in design, planning, management, coordination, monitoring and provision of technical support for multi-sectoral health projects. Alice holds a Master of Science degree in International Health from Charité – Universitätsmedizin, Berlin, Germany, a Master of Art Degree in Education from Andrews University, Michigan, USA and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Home Economics from Spicer University (formerly Spicer College), Pune, India

Lydia K. Odongo is an HR Specialist/Advisor with over two decades of progressive experience in human resource and operations management in International and local NGOs, and the private sector. She worked for FHI360, an International NGO, as the head of HR for over 18 years. She is skilled in mentorship and career coaching honed over the years. She is a skilled negotiator with experience handling complex negotiations, skills, and expertise to handle complex HR issues, and a contextual understanding of labour laws.

It is a privilege and honour to have the chance to contribute to the impactful mission of ZanaAfrica, which resonates with my values and interests. Alice Lumasayi is an Office cleaner and cook.She also helps in welcoming & serving guests ,planting and watering ,receiving and dispatching goods in the office and supervising casuals.

Before ZanaAfrica ,She was a domestic worker for a period of 6 years.

So far she has been able to improve in her cooking skills,using various computer programs,confidence and communication.

Alice is interested in learning more about computers ,new cooking techniques and also running businesses.

Benson Maboko

Benson Maboko

Benson Maboko is a Day Guard/ gardener at ZanaAfrica. He is responsible for tendering the garden for aethetics and functional purposes, including mowing the grass, trimming the fence and flowers, weeding and planting flowers and vegetables.

He also guards the gate, warmly ushers incoming and outgoing staff and visitors and provides security by verifying visitors, ensuring that unauthorized people or products do not enter or leave the premises.

Before joining ZanaAfrica, Benson was working with Bamburi Cement company as a machine operator. He also used to run a food products business.

In his spare time, he loves watching movies ,singing ,dancing, playing and watching football.

I am an Office Assistant at Zanaafrica, where I am responsible for running errands, pad delivery, purchasing stationaries, getting quotes from clients, checking mails from the post office, paying utilities, and banking cheques. I take pride in my work and enjoy the tasks that come with my role. Previously, I worked at Fly Air Ltd as a Clark/Driver, where I produced flight coupon tickets for international and local sales and picked up and dropped off visitors at the airport. I am also interested in pursuing a course in Humanitarian Disasters and Public Health.
